Research Help Question

Q: How do I search using Subject Headings or Subject Terms in a library database?

Research Help Answer

A:

Subject headings (or subject terms) are types of keywords used when searching for professional level sources. For example, a subject heading for "high blood pressure" would be "hypertension," since that is the medical term for the condition.  For more information on searching by subject headings, please visit the library's Research Basics guide.
