Research Help Question

Q: How do I search in EBSCO (EBSCOhost)?

Research Help Answer

A:

EBSCO (EBSCOhost) is not one database, but is a platform of different databases.

To access EBSCO databases, click the link for the library's A-Z Database List from the library homepage.

  • Click on the "Databases by Platform" tab near the top of the page
  • Scroll down to the section titled, "EBSCOHost"
  • This is a list (with descriptions) of all of our EBSCO databases

You can also search many of the EBSCO databases simultaneously.

Click on any of the EBSCO databases (Academic Search Complete, CINAHL, etc.) Then, above the search boxes, you will see the name of the database and next to it is a link, "Choose Databases". Here you can click the box next to “Select / deselect all” at the top of the page. This will allow you to search within many of the EBSCOhost databases at the same time.

However, there are a few EBSCO databases that are not included in the "Choose Databases" search. Some of these include Dynamed, Nursing Reference Center Plus, and LearningExpress Library (LEX).

To use these databases, select them individually from the A-Z Database list.
