Library Login and Information Question
Library Login and Information Answer
Eligible Hold Criteria
- Borrowers must be in good standing prior to placing a hold on items. All overdue items must be returned and no payments due.
- Borrowers may have up to 5 holds on their record.
- Borrowers may *NOT* place holds on Course Reserves (textbooks) or Reference Collection items. These items are available on a first-come, first-serve basis only.
- Borrowers must pick-up their available holds within three business days from date of notification. If you are unable to pick-up your items within that time frame, you must contact library staff. Holds not picked up within three days will be returned to their owning campus library and shelving location.
- Holds cannot be placed on items with a status of "Missing", "Lost", "Assumed Lost", or "In Repair." All other statuses are eligible for holds.
Holds will only be granted if ALL of the above criteria are met.
There are no fees charged for placing holds or returning expired holds. West Coast University does not allow hold overrides except in cases where the material's condition requires assessment and/or immediate repairs by library staff. Please allow up to five business days for your hold to be processed if the item has an "Available" status at the time of placing the hold. Please allow additional time for items that have another status or are available from an out-of-state West Coast University campus library.

Faculty and staff failing to return late items may incur replacement costs charged to their program department budget.
