Formatting your discussion post in APA is similar to formatting a paper using APA.
Your discussion post must have an in-text citation for any sources you cite. You must also have reference citations listed below the discussion post.
While you must have a hanging indent on your references list in your paper, hanging indents should not be required in a discussion post because of formatting limitations in Canvas. Please check with your professor if you have questions about hanging indents in discussion posts.

This text is an example of a discussion post with in-text and reference citations about healthcare leadership. Healthcare leadership styles should be modified based on context and group dynamics, an adaptive leadership approach (Singh et. al, 2024). Applying theories and leadership styles using a general approach may be ineffective. Conditions and relationships can vary in healthcare settings, and the same leadership style will not work for all teams.
While there are many leadership styles used in healthcare, transformational leadership often comes up in healthcare literature. Perez (2021) states that “clinical professionals should apply the transformational leadership style in their efforts to become effective healthcare leaders because it is more strongly associated with employee retention and job satisfaction” (p. 299).
