WCU FAQs: APA and Citations

A generic citation for the Anatomy of a Mystery videos used in Anatomy courses should look like this:

Writer1, W.(Writer), Writer2, W. (Writer), & Director, D. (Director). (Year). Title of episode (Season Number, Episode Number) [Description]. In P. Producer (Producer/Executive Producer), Title of series. Production Company.

As an example, the Week 1 Anatomy video “Curious Cuts” would be cited on your References page as:

Visser, B. (Writer), Adams, N. (Writer), Masters, L. (Writer), & Dameron, M. (Director). (2021). Curious cuts (Episode 1) [Course Video]. In J. Seldera, D. O’Brien (Producers), Anatomy of a Mystery. West Coast University Innovation Lab.

The in-text citation for this example would be:

(Visser et al., 2021, 02:57)

The 02:57 used for the in-text citation example is a timestamp indicating where in the video the information can be found.  It is similar to providing a page number for a book.

Note: All episodes of the Anatomy of a Mystery video series have the same writer, director, and producer.
